99 Tahoe parking light fuse shorts out

Within the past 3 weeks I have had a problem with the 20amp fuse covering the parking lights short out, which also disables my instrument panel lights. I have checked all the bulbs and found one that the glass separated from the base and replace that one. After that everything worked fine, until last night whene the fuse popped again. I replaced it and it worked until tonight and it took 3 fuses to get me home....only 15 miles.
I pulled the dash off and pulled the light control switch out and there is another box behind which says audiovox on it. I was able to also find a group of wires that were tied to each of the controls, but not all wires went to both. 8 Months ago I had the "theft deterent" module replaced, which was diagnosed by the dealership as too why sometimes I would not be able to start it. Most recently, I have also lost the light on the "1,2,4,5" numbers on the factory radio. I have also disconnected the trailer harness, the license plate lights, and the engine hood light tonight to help elimanate the culprit.
Any other ideas....Any help would be greatly appreciated. Since it worked for 8 plus years, and then worked for a week....I am very perplexed. I have not made any changes or additions to the vehicle.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Before i get stopped by the cops at night...hehehe
Thanks.
Mike

There is a wiring harness that runs in the left foot well, just forward of where your left foot would go. There is a spot where the harness takes a turn up-wards that seems to rub thru and blow that fuse. I would check that harness out real closely, the wire you are looking for is either orange or red.
Good luck
Nevermind, I just realized I am after the wrong circuit in my reply. That circuit is for the power mirrors, heated seats, erc.
