Odd Clicking Sound

Hello everyone,

Well, to go right to the matter. I have a Lancer '08 (The automatic version with CVT). It has 2,800 miles and 5 months out of the dealer.

Today, when I turn on the key (before firing up the car), I hear a weird noise.. like if something was being pumped inside the engine, then it stopped. I couldnt reproduce it.

Then, I noticed that while on "Park", everytime I press on the brakes, there is a click sound inside the gear box. I placed my hand on where the shifter is, and you can feel something definetely "clicking" under it.

The sound is gone while driving, and the brakes seems to work as they have always worked, brake fluid level is normal.

It seems it only happens while on "Park". Any ideas on what it means?

Thanks,

Daniel
