Engine noise after timimg belt change ?

Hi my friend own 2000 honda prelude , and he did a complete timing belt change. the car ran and idle fine but its making weir loud noise, the mechanic say the car need to be breaking in or just ride until the tentional is adjust itself. any idea ? thanks
