Yeah they are pretty quick. i believe they are around 155 hp. I'm not sure of that figure though. You may want to check that out.:)

Well it depends on which engine you have. Both engines are of the KA24 type, but the difference is between the DOHC and SOHC versions. 0-60 in a little over 8 seconds for the DOHC, and between 9-10 seconds for the SOHC engine.

Now OTHO, if you are willing to invest a few thousand extra, you can swap in a SR20DET engine, that makes about 200hp stock, and has about 300hp potential just by installing a boost controller and intercooler.

You can also use the CA18DET, which is quite a bit cheaper, although it has less torque. Another good option is rebuilding the KA24DE with a turbocharger. You can expect similar power levels...

stock 89-90 S13's are not that quick. the only cars you'll be beating are civics. the exactly hp number 140hp. plus it would have a shit load of miles on it when you get one. i don't think any 240's stock are fast. they are all pretty slow. 0-60 ranges anywhere from 7.7 to 8.1 seconds. and thats with a DOHC! the SOHC expect 0-60 near 9 seconds. and quarter mile times of 16 + seconds for both. now the beautiy of this car though is its potential. even the KA themselves responds to mods extremely well. when you put bolt ons on you will actually feel the increase. and the cars are so much fun to drive too.

A 240 stock isn't too quick. A relative in Quebec had an '89 Dodge Colt 200GT (those4 things are poular in Quebec!) , and before the Chrysler tranny went on him, he could take a stock 240 in that thing. it was a bit faster in the 0-60, and they don't say 200 for nothing, he pulled 200km/h on the highway no sweat.

If you get a 240, and don't want the engine swap, rebuild the original plant like i did with the Bonneville and add mods to give it some kick. They had a truck motor in the 240, so it's got great top end potential stock, you just need to fix the launch problem.

Hope that helps. :D

240's have no problem launching as they have about as much torque as hp, the problem is that with the cams, the power curve falls flat around 5500k...mods help this, a good intake and exhaust will help and headers do even more to promote that top end.... also new cams available from many places will help with this. im gonna be turbo'n my KA motor with possibly a T60 setup...not sure exactly tho, may buy a bolt on turbo kit, but i have to take care of my slush box.

bolt on kits are availiable from F-Max, XS, NSport(my choice), and greddy's kit is rumored to be out this coming spring (march/april/may) from some1 with a connection at greddy i talked to.

btw...i have 95 (S14) 240sx (non se:( ) with n1 dual and aem intake waiting to be installed.
