I plan on doing the brakes on my gf's 02 galant tomorrow. Is the brake install pretty straight forward? The only thing I am really worried about is if I have to bleed the brakes if I don't get any resistance in the brake pedal. Anyone know how it is done in these cars? Thanks for the help in advance!

If you're only doing the brakes, not the calipers, there shouldn't be a need to bleed the brakes, only if you introduce air to the system,:nono:

If you need to bleed the brake, you'll need more brake fluids, tools for bleeding valves.
notes: make sure to add more brake fluid because if it's empty, air will get into master cylinder.
1. Have person #1 pump the brake, then hold down the pedal.
2. While person #1 holding down the brake pedal, person #2 open the bleeding valve on the caliper to let brake fluid & air out.
3. Person #1 will not let go of brake pedal until person # 2 tight the bleeding valve.
Do that on all 4 sides.
