I have a 2002 Accord and have had a ck engine light on since August P1457 Evap. Since then I have replaced the bypass solenoid, 2 way valve, purge valve, canister, and solenoid valve (over $700). Light is still on. Besides PCM (03-001 bulletin), is there anything else that can be causing this? I'm a student and can't keep replacing parts if it's the PCM that's causing all the problems. Any help is appreciated. Thx.

I unfortunately cannot help you with diagnostics: try to search the forum, but still have a question:
did you reset the ECU?

Thanks Sam. The dealership reset when they put the last 2 sensors in, but light came back on 2 days later. I've been hearing it could be the gas cap, but I will repost when (if) I am able to fix it.

I was gonna say, always start with the gas cap on evap codes unless specific...

There are two ways to fix a problem: (1) Just start replacing things until you get it fixed. This can cost a fortune. (2) Trouble shoot the problem down to the lowest number of possible causes then start replacing the least expensive and easiest replaced item until you get it fixed. With this in mind, maybe the gas cap replacement should have been the first thing replaced.

Actually there are testing procedures in the FSM for probably every device on the car. I have never seen FSM for 02 Accord on the net though. I think Helms wants seventy dollars for them. It is still less expensive than paying dealer for the “experiments” they conduct on your car.
