radiator?

n00b here.
i got a 92 saturn sc and there is a hole in the radiator. im pretty sure its just in the plastic endcap. i heard i could take it to a radiator place and get it fixed for around 40.00.. is there a way i could fix it myself? or just go to a junkyard and get a new radiator? it looks easy to take out and put in.. (thats what she said) any ideas?

If its the plastic end tank, you can epoxy it yourself. I suggest removing it, cleaning religiously, sanding it, and using epoxy with some light filler in it. You don't want it too thin and flowing out, you want it about the consistency of mayonaisse so it stays put. Better epoxy sources (like auto body shops) will have the filler you need. I might suggest a microfiber or glass fibers... or even just a cut piece of glass cloth. The strongest glass cloth would be the bias-cut tape, usually called bi-axial tape.

Of course until you bought all the stuff to do it right, it would probably be more than taking it to a radiator repair shop :)

I would suggest the junkyard radiator, but you never know how it was treated nor how long its been sitting in that car with possibly corrosive old coolant in it.
