Well if you've raced one and won...Isn't that a good indication that the Spec V would win?

Well, it's a weird world out there and anything can happen, but just basing off book-knowledge or what I know from these cars from magazines and other people that own them, the Spec-V is a mid-to-low 15-second car at best, while the RSX-S is a low-15 to mid-14 second car at best. Based off that, the RS-X with an equal driver will beat your car stock-for-stock. It is also quite possible that you raced a base RSX, which you can't tell apart visually from the outside from an S, unless you actually saw the Type-S badging from the back. The base RSX has about 15HP less than you, while weighing about the same, so you should be able to take one of those easy.

well the type s that i raced did have the "S" in the back and i saw the motor it was the type s motor because of the red valve cover and it also redline at 7800-7900 im not so sure what its red line was but the main thing was that i took him out like nothin since the start.:D

first of all, nice job beating a type-s. although i dont personally care for sentras, my friend has one (SE-R spec V, modded). When his car was stock he and i raced (i have an RSX type S, we got our cars 6 hrs apart). now, this is where our stories differ. when dave and i raced the first time, i owned him. initially he had pulled ahead, but by 35 i was ahead and stayed there. however, it is entirely possible that it couldve been the other way around. firstly, shifting at 7400 RPM is quite hard, as it passes quickly, and running into the rev limiter is a 0.3 second penalty. secondly, the RSX's shifter is a bit TOO tight if you ask me. thirdly, ANY incline whatsoever decreases performance on the RSX bigtime (yes, i a honda/acura owner, admitted a fault of VTEC!) as it only has 142 lb/ft TRQ. finally, there is of course the possibility that he was an incompitent driver (we cant all be formula 1ers). Now, i will also admit that stock to stock i lost a few to my friends SE-R, but we figure its about even, really, it just depends on the conditions. (cold temp=major plus for RSX, heat=slow accel)

my goodness, please leave this board. u don't own a RSX...if u did, u'd kno that ur redline is at 8k, meaning shifting at 7400 wouldn't even be CLOSE to ur rev-limit. im sorri, im not tryin to flame outta no where, but read this guys's other story, and u'll see that he has no idea wut he is talking about, an he makes a lot of stories up.

o...nice kill in the SER-V. i still wanna run one in my GSR, but haven't lined up next to one yet. i think that as long as u are a competitent driver, u'll beat lots of RSX-S from a stop, as long as they aren't as good as u :D . all comes down to driver...tellin ya.

you again...
for the last time, i have an RSX type-S. yes, i want a type R. i also plan to keep my car STOCK. i dont pretend i am the Speed Racer of the import scene. i dont know everything about my car. i dont run my engine hard. i dont redline it. its new and shiny, and better than most other cars in PA. unlike nearly everyone in this forum, i am not a car nut. i dont blow oh, say six grand on a car to make it faster or and give it a flashier appearance. i dont have a twelve inch exhaust and a 52 inch carbon fiber wing and 36 inch chrome rims (yes, i know they wouldnt fit) on a car half an inch off the ground. what i do have is a job, which bought that car and pays the insurance, which is obviously better than you can manage, KrNxRaCer00

er...cept...lets think, goto school, then work after school, an make car payments an pay for my insurance an any mod that goes into my car. u said that u have raced ur car, so obviously u run it hard sometimes, an u'd kno that ur redline is at 8k, yet at 7400 u were having problems staying off ur rev-limiter? ur full of junk, u think u beat an IS300 in a civic HX. how old are u? 16? i'd show u some respect, but u are making comments that anybody with the actual car would kno not to...if u have the car, great...jus don't go around sayin things that make no sense, an don't go around making up stories.

i dunno.. im not even gonna speculate on the spec v, ive heard of people running 14s stock and such and beating type S RSX's, but i beat 2 and lost to one, nice cars though, either way..maybe people in lawrence cant drive? <myself excluded:D >

Don't worry, i believe you. I am the same way, have a great car, and don't wanna kill the thing. Gotta job, and i feel like putting my money more on things like paying it off rather than paying the shop 1grand on fixin some sh*t i never even heard of before.

KrNxRaCer00 has been around on this forum a lot longer than you and he also appears to know more than you and I have never seen him post some bs, so shut the hell up and post some constructive things or get the hell out!

read wut the guy has put before...then i don't really think u'd be as supportive of him. he already says he races his cars, an yet now he says he takes care of his cars. if he owned the car, then he'd KNOW FOR A FACT that his redline is a 8k, making a comment like "i take it to 7400 but its tough to stay off the rev-limit" add even more doubt.

I figured you won because of the spec Vs torque. Im guessing it was a short race because in the long run the type s wouldve got you when it hits the rsx vtec sweet spot. Good kill tho. Spec V's i think is a good value for anyone looking a car to tune.

Thanks Pontiactrac
yes i raced my car, just didnt rev it past 7400, and i dont plan to. i know where my redline is, i just never get there. i usually shift at 2000 to 2500 rpm. KrNxRaCer i dont mean to fight with you. i assume you are in college too. when i 'raced' the lexus i was a sophomore i high school and i drove like a jackass 213% of the time. i dont think the guy was really trying to race me hard. now i am 19 and only drive like a dick on thursdays to get to work on time. you obviously know more abt cars than i do. recently i found out that it is impossible to double clutch due to synchros in the gearbox, so i have a question. my friend dave, while in gear and flooring it, pushes his clutch in abt half way and lets it out again as i used to. after discovering that in subaru's this creates a fantastic burning odor i stopped doing it. i am assuming this damages or at least stresses the clutch/transmission. but what is it called?
