I got a 95 grandam DOHC car. I have had motor problems inthe past and have put 4 motors in it. I have been useing 2.3 SOHC motors but I cant keep them together. So my question is I found a 2.3 quad out of a 93 cutless supreme the motor looks the same other than the motor mounts. All i want to know is if the swap can be done easly with few changes due to the fact the motor only has 3 miles on it and it was rebuilt by jasper racing. thanks much

There are a bunch of differences between 93 and 95. Your heater hoses will be different. Transmissions are different, plan on using the transmission that goes with the 93. Same with the cv shafts. A bunch of sensors are different as well, plan on changing out a few of those as well. You will also need either the prom from the 93 or the entire ecm, I'd grab the ecm. Wiring harnesses ~should~ be the same, but some engine component locations will be different, and it's possible the connectors will not reach. Power steering pumps are different, the 95 pump runs directly off the intake cam, and the 93 has a belt. The power steering hoses are different as well. Motor mounts should be the same, exhaust is the same. It's not going to be a quick and easy swap due to the electrical issues you will run into, but if you are patient and don't rush it it can be done. Good luck.

I noticed the water pump was a bit dif and the motor mounts are dif. The power stearing is ran the same way. I didnt get to look to close but from what i seen it is mostly the same. I was told that a SOHC motor from the 94 wouldnt work in the DOHC car but I have areay done that with no changes at all other than I had to make a power stearing line. So to anyone wondering it can be done just use the same cradle for the bottem motor mount that came with the car. People may say you need to change intakes and some other things but you dont, it will drop in.

If you already know this then why & what are you asking ?? :screwy:
The newer quads are not quiet the same as your 93. Internally and externally.
Let us know how it goes, and welcome to AF.
