Check engine light flashes

Recently while entering the interstate the check engine light on my 2002 Astro van started flashing then stopped flashing and went off and never came on again.

I didn't think anything of it because I know those things can come on for something as simple as the gas cap being loose.

But the light did the same thing again yesterday while entering the interstate.

Does anyone have any idea as to what may have caused the check engine light to flash and then go off?

Would it perhaps have saved the code so it can be checked by autozone even if the light is no longer on?

Thanks

Yes- Have the code checked- it will be stored until it is either cleared or does not return after 50 ignition cycles-- autozone will be glad to read it for you....

Buy your own Code reader OBDII there on Ebay,, and harbor freight.com cheap ,,and then you can help yourself..

Thanks, I went to Auto Zone today and had them check it out with a code reader.

It said "passed" and there were no codes saved to read.

He said that the light has to stay on in order for the reader to read any error code and the check engine light was not on.

I really don't think it's anything serious because it has come on (flashed) twice, both time while entering the interstate, but there are many times it has not come on (flashed) too.

Thanks for your help, if it comes on and stays on then I'll have it checked out again.
