SDM Air bag module question. Any GM techs?

I am currently doing a motor swap to my 99 cavalier, in which i am upgrading to the newer Ecotec motor out of a 2003 cavalier sedan, from the 2200 OHV. Now i have a donor vehicle which was in a roll over and i have taken the entire vehicle wiring harness out, bcm, pcm, and motor/trans. It will all bolt right into my 99 no issues. However, there are a few parts i didn't receive with the donor vehicle. The guy took the airbags and SDM module out to put in a car he was fixing.

Question is, i have a someone with a modified car not using any of his airbags but still has his air bag module installed. He's willing to remove it from his vehicle and part ways with his air bags. We're just unsure, what the vehicle will do without the SDM module installed other than throw the air bag malfunction light on. Any know the consequences?

That's it, no deployment, btw the 99 SIRS and 2002 are different systems.

I know, which is why i have this...

Its the entire body wiring harness for an 2003 cavalier sedan. I am striping my 99 clean of everything ( motor, bcm, pcm, dash, etc.) and transferring everything from the 2003 ( motor, bcm, pcm, dash, etc.) so it will be a plug and play procedure and no needing to do any hard wiring. This is why i needed to know if a car will function properly without the SDM module.

Thanks.

Yes it will, in regards to the SIRS, they are just inoperative.
