Well in looking in my Haynes manual, I can see there is 14 wires in this radio harnessing. I have located all of them. Someone ripped out the radio and cut the wires, then used a toggle switch for the runnning lights. Well now, I hook all the wires together like they should and power it up and the clock comes on and then when i turn on the radio the running lights come on. Now looking at the diagram the orange is the "hot at all times" wire. It is orange the same color comming out of the radio and the same to the toggle switch. The other wire on the toggle switch was black. i am figuring that was ground. I have yet to look at the actual switch to see it the just unhooked from there and went straight to the toggle. The horn doesnt work since it is also part of the wiring. But they show 3 hot wires in the harnessing. One hot in acc, its yellow and that ma tches the radios one, orange which is "hot at all times" and it controls "horn/dm" and then there is the grey which is the inst lps and i have no problem with that. The other 11 wires are ok on the hookups. My problem is why is the runners comming on when i turn on the radio, perhaps the relay was bypassed?

your best bet would be to go a wrecking yard and cut a connector off an old one with enough wire left to splice to and just match up the wires

Well in looking into the manual further, I can see that the orange wire that is suppose to be for the radio comes from the "horn/dm fuse and is a 30amp, the parking lights is a 20amp. both are orange. What i am thinking is this last guy might have had a problem with the parking light switch and just hot wired a toggle hanging out of the radio slot. Why else would the parking lights come on if you tu rn the radio on using that orange wire. I will have to back track to the fuse box and i bet i will find the wrong orange wire is sitting in the radio cavity and nothing to the running light switch. This makes more sense now. since the horn doesnt work i am figuring this is what the guy did, just used and put the wire where it is making me think its the right one when its not. the schematics do not show a parking light wire being hot all the time, only the horn/dm. And what does "dm" stand for, i drew a blank there, probally someth ing simple. And yes that is what i did. I went to a junkyard and got the harnesses that way. Now onto the the tempermental heater switch controls.
