good day.
I have a 95 stratus. it was running fine, it stall and shut down completely.battery is ok, fuel is ok, it cranks very strong but no spark.replaced distributor cover, and distributor rotor. no spark. check voltage and signals at both distributor connectors. the signal from the ASD is strong at 12.9v, the other signals are at 5 and 9 as spec on the chiltons manual, how do you test the coil?? I have a very low resistance in the primary terminals (also why do we have 3 terminals inside and only one connected to the ASD??), please help cause buying a new distributor is not cheap.
thanks in advance for your help.

If you have a 2.5L engine, then you may want to investigate the Distributor or Crank Posittion sensor (on bell housing). I had a sebring ('96 w/2.5L v6) and threw a lot of parts at it, the fix was a new distributor. Look at the sebring forumn, many posts on this issue.

thanks for you response.
Indeed I replaced the distributor...no luck but a huge dent on my wallet (240 dlls.) I also replaced the crankshaft sensor, still no luck but I think I placed the distributor backwards cause now it tells me that theres no signal from the camshaft sensor (wich is new cause it is included with the distributor) I gotta check that out.
best regards and thanks again

well.........finally the nightmare is over....
the problem was the crankshaft sensor (75 dlls. ouch!!) wich is buried behind the distributor. also when I plug the distributor the plastic plug desintegrated on me (being exposed to heat for so many years could do that) and I went to the junkyard and got me a full harness for 20 more dlls. that was preventing the pins from making contact .
the codes from the computer (on-off-on-off-on) were the key to bring some sanity into this mess.
thanks again for all your help,
happy thanksgiving!!

I had the same problem with a customers 95 dodge stratus 2.0 with no distributor. I discovered that the rear seal was leaking oil onto the cam sensor. this was not allowing the sensor to pick up on the cam positioning therefor absolutely no spark. i replaced the seal, cleaned the oil off of the sensor and reconnected it and the car started with no hesitation.
