Cruise Control

Hi in my 1994 buick lesaber custom my cruise control work once a month. When it does it is perfect and work woundefully untill the car sits for a day. Then It will not work for awhile again. When it works it sounds like there is a click under the glove box. Does anyone know if i have a malfuctioning relay some where.

Well, I just had to replace the ECU on my 94 to get the cruise working again. I don't know of any CC relay.

Well, I just had to replace the ECU on my 94 to get the cruise working again.Thanks for your input. My cruse doesn't work on my 97 ("Cruse" Light comes on, on the dash).

I read about the ECU and never thought it would control the cruse. How did you figure out it was the ECU? I hate buying stuff that doesn't fix it.

"An engine control unit (ECU) is an electronic control unit which controls various aspects of an internal combustion engine's operation. The simplest ECUs control only the quantity of fuel injected into each cylinder each engine cycle. More advanced ECUs found on most modern cars also control the ignition timing, variable valve timing (VVT), the level of boost maintained by the turbocharger (in turbocharged cars), and control other peripherals.

My light comes on too but shuts off when the speed drops below what it was set. Then once a month it will work perfect. There was 2 codes set in the computer i dont know if this helps.

What codes are set?

ill stop at the mechanic sometime next week but on his scanner it just had cruise contol listed next to them, because i had to get a new oxegen sensor put in and he reset the computer for me so i could pass inspection. They seem to go back on when ever the cruise control doesnt work but the check engine light dosent go on. Not sure why but ill try to get the numbers.
