I don't know if this is correct but I came across it in another KIA forum.
"BTW, quick knowledge bit.... did you know that the trip-tronic shifting technology that Kia's use is actually from Porsche (http://www.kia-forums.com/#)? Porsche and Kia have had a partnership for several years now, so a lot of Porsche's great technology and engineering are rubbing off on Kia! Kudos to Porsche and kudos to Kia!
Some other things that Kia has gotten from their relationship with Porsche...
Gearboxes, transmissions, shocks, sway-bars, and a few other things I can't think of off the top of my head."

Must admit I'm a bit dubious about that info - afterall I'm not sure why Kia would want a sports and performance parts from Porsche?
Kia are owned by Hyundai and as far as I knew used a lot of their parts - would like to be proved wrong though, the thought of Porsche bits inside them sounds good!
