I have an older pioneer DEH-P6000 that I really like, but the rubber buttons have worn off to the point where I cant adjust the volume without using a paper clip. Pioneer sells the replacement buttons, but I'm wondering how difficult is it to service stuff like this yourself. Are there a lot of special tools the service centers have? Just wondering in general if you guys do any of this stuff yourself.

having the right tool(s) really helps, having an assembly diagram is even more helpful

Would you even attempt it? The replacement buttons are $50.
