What about the Packers?!

Lol, if everyone else gets a thread we might as well have one for the Packers. My favorite team since as long as I can remember. Now 7-1 and ready to take down the Cowboys (hopefully lol) after we get done with Adiran Peterson and the Vikings. Discuss. *cough* BNaylor *cough*.

They are on a roll. They have no running game though so that will have to hurt them at some point. They should have a good day against the rival Vikes next week and have some good matchups the rest of the season. I think they are 3rd best in the NFC next to Dallas and NY football Giants.

Next to Dallas eh? Well, we'll see. BNaylor and I have had this talk. Could be close, we'll see. Beat the Vikings once, just waiting for a second W. Seems like Adrian Peterson is the ONLY thing going for the Vikings right now but only time will tell.

We did? Oh yeah now I remember.

I agree it will be a good game and close. Best part is a loss will not preclude either team from winning the division title or making it to the playoffs. Since the Cowboys are NFC East and the Packers are NFC North. As it stands right now their overall records are identical at 7-1-0.

The game is scheduled Thursday, Nov 29 at Dallas.

FTP... its a saying of mine that means many different things but it was originally created in reference to the *ugh* packers

But hatred aside, I'm impressed with whats going on with that podunk team.

9-1 for the Packers.

Knocked off the Panthers. While they looked good in the first half, they are going to need to bring more than that if they want to keep their one loss record.

I take back what I said. With an increase in the running game from Grant, I now agree with the critics on this team being 2nd best in the NFC to the Cowboys, who also won today in a competitive game. Can't wait for the rivalry game on Thanksgiving.

Packers 33 Rams 14. Tack on another record for Favre for most passing yards.

Edit: Wouldn't have said this before but I honestly think Packers are the better team to the Cowboys. Though the Cowboys beat them at home by 10, the Cowboys are struggling now with barely edging out a win to the Lions and losing to the Eagles. I just wish we could invite the 'boys to come up to the frigid air in Green Bay for a game. :grinyes: Not to mention, when the Packers are winning, they are doing it with wins upwards of 20+ points each game now.

It's a successful season for us Bears fans if we beat the Pack twice...it's better than going 1 and done in the playoffs IMO. BUT as much as I hate to say it the Packers are having a great season and Favra is having a career season...

In reality only if they come out Number 1 in the NFC playoffs and make it to the Superbowl but last time I checked the Cowboys may be in the way especially with homefield advantage thanks to the Bears.

:uhoh:

Running for cover.

Looks like the Packers won't be making the trip to Dallas after all. :sadwavey:

Can't say I am disappointed though. This was definately the best thing for the Packers. Cowboys did have a good season though.

Man, talk about a nail biting game. :disappoin Too little too late but I'm not surprised based on their (Cowboys) performance the last few weeks. The Packers/Giants game next week for the NFC Championship should be very interesting. IMO a close game. May the best team win.

^ I agree, should be a close game assuming the same Eli shows up next week as what was in Dallas tonight. And also assuming Packers offense can keep it together without many/if any turnovers.

You must not watch football.

Even as a Bears fan I admit that Brett Favre is a great quarterback. To discount the things he has achieved over his years at the helm (numbers records and No. 1 all-time position stats) as well as 2 trips to the superbowl with a win on one occasion and now the chance to get back again - anyone who simply says "he sucks" without offering so much as a shred of potential evidence for discussion simply has no idea what they are talking about.

While my money was on the Giants this week, I don't plan on seeing the same Giants team next week. Packers and Pats headin' to sunny Glendale!:grinyes:

Haha, that's cute. Probably a fan of another football team that Favre has squashed. And I guess if Favre sucks that means every other QB in the NFL must suck to as he leads is practically every record there is. I don't care if you do not like the Packers, but if you do not have something useful to contribute to the thread, then don't post. And judging by previous posts of yours, you are not long for this forum anyway.

What a crazy weekend of football. First of all lazy ass, Favre is so good that even Bears fans are on his bandwagon for the playoffs... me included. Second, I'm looking forward to Favre vs Brady in SBXLII.

BUT if The Giants somehow manage to fall ass backward into the bowl then I get to at least get my money back in my pool at work. I had Indy as my AFC team so that dream of winning it all is gone unless the Giants pull off some crazy shit.

heh. g-men vs cheese heads in the frozen tundra. better believe it, its going to be cold.

i wonder how eli manning plays in the cold. this kind of cold :). and i bet there will be fans there with no shirts at one point of the game despite the temps :)

Favre will play better regardless how good Eli is. Favre has been played in that Midwest cold for God knows how long.

Well, Pack lost. While that was not what I predicted, that is it. I would be EXTREMELY surprised if the Giants beat the Patriots but I guess who knows. They had a better season than almost anyone could have predicted so overall I am happy.

I am a packers fan, but i couldn't see em beatin the pats anyway. i kinda think The giants have a better chance than we would've... Either they'll be on, playin hot as hell. Or, they'll be off, and it'll be damn near a shut out. We'll see.

What a game! I'm not a Packers fan so I am really not disappointed with the outcome although surprised. You'd figure the Packers would prevail in the extreme cold but clearly this was not the case. Too many penalties and turnovers, etc. From what I saw the Giants were no doubt the better team and deserved the win. And from the Dec. 29 game against the Pats have the best chance of upsetting the Patriots at Superbowl but I would not bet on it.

Oh man. Super Bowl in sunny Glendale, Giants vs Pats.

I get the feeling we're gonna see the Randy Moss (soon to be the 2008 Super Bowl MVP) from his rookie days.............................................. ............

00accord44
01-22-2008, 12:00 AM
Moss will probably be a non-factor in the bowl other than the fact that they have to keep a body on him. Giants pass rush is damn good and if they rush up the middle and make Brady get the ball out of his hands quickly then the majority of the catches will go to Welker and Maroney on short crossing patterns (which Moss doesn't run). Which is why TB will end up MVP with 80% completions for 250+ yards and 2TD. :2cents:

I think the Packers will win the Super Bowl. I don't think the media gives them enough credit. I'm not a Packer fan, but I hate the Steelers. I think Aaron Rodgers and Charles Woodson deserve a ring. And any team with a player named Kuhn is cool in my book.
