G'day Zeljko,

Nice start there. I hope your young family allows you the time to make swift progress - and keep us updated as you do :)

Are you planing to do it straight from the box as Michelle Mouton's Acropolis car or do you have a transkit for some other event?

Phil Curtis

P.S. I am actually making decent progress on another Pug!

It will be OOB because I don't have money for some conversion.
Looks me very interesting to make one car whicm female driver drove. :-)

I really want to see this model finished!

The interior seems quite simple. Did the real cars also have 1/2 of the rollcage, or is the the Tamiya creativity?

Ales: Tamiya has cut corners with their Quattro and the rollcage should not be 1/2 cage. But you have to remember this kit dates back to 1982 or thereabout..

Here's on interior picture of Quattro. It's from a 1984 A2-model, but I think it isn't too different from the original Quattro.

Zeljko - No nothing new on my site at the moment, maybe soon! :D Got several things half started but haven’t had the patience to actually finish anything yet

Seb - Good to see you here too! How is the Xsara going? Love your Avatar.

Yes the 206 is the t2m version. However, their decals leave a lot to be desired so I will have to add in a lot of extra stuff too. I chose the NZ version because it is the same car (206 MWL 75) that I’ve already modelled as Panizzi's Sanremo '99 car. Also the front bumper turning light covers don't have to be changed!

At the moment I have the body primed, and am trying to decide to use Tamiya TS-17 Gloss Aluminium for the body or try using Alcalad II. I guess TS-17 would be the easiest option except I only have about 2/3rds of a can left and I won't be able to get any more until I go to Melbourne next, about 450km south of where I live!

Sorry for going OT on your thread Zeljko. Be very interesting to see how the engine on your Quattro turns out, we don’t have enough Rally cars with engines any more. From memory Tamiya only give you the top half of it - is that right?

I don't know is it worth to open hood. Engine is quit simple and like you said it have only top part.

But here is one link which Seb gave me where you can see 84 version with engine. Here it is http://philippegiraud.free.fr/index.php , and click on photos, select the Audi and click on "rechercher".

BTW, if anybody have any reference photos for it, exterior and interior, please send me.

Zeljko, do you have Klein's Rally Cars book?

There are a few pictures in there, both of the Group 4 car and later versions. I also have the 1982 Autocourse which has a cutaway (guttershot unfortunately) and a couple of black and white photos of Michele's car on the Acropolis. Not much, but a start.

Let me know if don't have these books and I'll scan the relevent pictures for you.

Yes, I have book but I don't recall engine photos.

Oh there are engine photos in there alright. Unfortunately most of the clearer ones are of later Group B cars.

Thanx guys!

Phil, you were right about photos. Now I must to crect some colors on engine parts. Tamiya's instructions are not very well for that part.

I repainted engine according to the photos in Rally Book an now looks much better. One part is is yellow/black carbon fiber and I painted it titanium gold mut looks to light to me.

I don't see whole wiring so I can't try to make wiring of engine.

Hey Zeljko,

SMS make a black and yellow kevlar pattern decal that matches the audi intake pipe exactly. If you can get hold of some it would be the way to go.
