Hi all. i believe this does not make sense...? Cause diesels run at higher intake temp charge. not? Or does it make sense?

thanks

It doesnt matter what the intercooler was originally on, as long as it has a certain amount of area in order to sufficiently cool the intake air. It also depends on the turbo you're using. If the turbo is inside its highest efficiency range, you CAN run a smaller intercooler because less cooling is necessary; however, if youre running a turbo into the "death zone," then you might have problems.

Generally, you need an intercooler large enough for your needs regardless of what it was originally on..

Thanks. Best to do the calcs first I guess. I thought that diesel ICīs had a different extruded core, giving lower efficiency. Since high eff. might not be needed, so no sense in higher production cost.
thanks

A lot of Buick Grand National guys use the IC out of the Isuzu NPR commercial truck.
