I am considering buying an 03 Focus with 24k on it form the dealer where I work for 5k. It is pretty loaded and in good shape overall. The only problem is the windshield wipers not shutting off properly.
The car is an automatic.
Any advice?
I would truly appreciate it.
Thanks.

With 24k and loaded is $8600 average retail. So...... If the wipers are simply not going back to the PARK SETTING after being shut off the solution is a new windshield wiper motor. If the problem is anything other than the park position the solution is a new MULTI-FUNCTION switch on the steering column. Getting this replaced by a dealer will run about $500. At 5k you are getting it at wholesale. A good deal? Yes.

Wrong...
The wiper switch is separate from the turn signal switch and takes about 4 minutes to replace. This car does not have a multifunction switch like other Fords do. The upper cover of the column comes off by depressing the 2 snaps on either side near the steering wheel and lifting up. It will not come compeltely off because it's attached to the dash also, but you do not need to take anything else off. Once the upper cover is pushed up out of the way, you can see the release tab on the wiper switch. Push it & the wiper switch lifts out. For about $45 retail from the dealer you can have a new switch.
Good luck
