99 A4 trunk

I just bought a 99 A4 Quattro 2.8 and consoder myself some what intelligent. How do I open the trunk? There is a button on the pillar between the doors on the drivers side and it worked once with the key in the ignition but I can't get it to open now. Have I lost my mind?

I just bought a 99 A4 Quattro 2.8 and consoder myself some what intelligent. How do I open the trunk? There is a button on the pillar between the doors on the drivers side and it worked once with the key in the ignition but I can't get it to open now. Have I lost my mind?


There is no button to open the trunk, only the key will open the trunk. The button on the pillar is to turn off the interior sensor for the alarm.
