i bought a 95 dodge intrepid in july '07. it has a 3.5 engine. a couple days later i was driving it and it stopped accelerating. that's the only time it did that.

next thing it did about a month later...it overheated. i tried a thermostat first. i ended up getting a rebuilt engine, supposedly. it's still had some overheating issues. the coolent will eventually dry up and i'll have to put more in and then bleed the hose so it doesn't overheat again.:banghead:

another thing it's done more than once but not all the time...the rpm will go up to 4 or 4-1/2 at about 55 mph. and it'll stay their and won't shift. and the engine sounds louder...doesn't sound good.:banghead:

last week it didn't start...but my boyfriend started it by pressing on the gas. next day it wouldn't start again. and it didn't make any noise at all. it did act like it would start when i had cables hook up with another car but that's it. tow truck guy got it to start...people at jensen tire got it to start and said it's probably the battery and the cable ends...possibly the nuetral safety switch.:frown:

today i took it to an auto guy and he said the leak for my coolent is from the water pump. is their anything else i could replace that's cheaper before i try the pump?

what're your opinions on these problems?
