99 P71 Speedometer/ Odometer not working

i posted a while ago about the bucking, and someone pointed me to the speed control sensor THANKS.. that has been replaced. The speedometer hasnt worked since. Someone said that there is something that you have to do in the engine compartment to fix this, any ideas or suggestions?
