Chrome parts fade?
I've got some kits in my stash that are decades old and the chrome finish looks like new. It looks like crappy kit chrome but it's not at all faded.

I treat chromed parts very carefully in a bath of SimpleGreen. This keeps it all from fading by removing it entirely. :grinyes:
It's a matter of personal opinion, but I think chromed parts (especially wheels) often look goofy and toylike. Often chromed wheels will ruin an otherwise spectacular build. I've never seen or heard of chromed parts fading, but I wonder if it might actually be an improvement? :dunno:

I think what he means is the chrome being scraped off. Some chrome have weak bond between the chrome and the primer, and begin to look like they're fading. I don't know how to prevent the "fading" of those poorly-applied chrome, but you can patch with Baremetal or repaint with Alclad or Spaz.
