security system light

My 2000 hombre, 2wd,2.2l 5spd. has a security system in it that came stock and shuts off the injector pulse(guessing as the pump noise is there)for ten minutes ( per owners manual)if an attempt to start the vehicle without a key is made. Nice feature but I'm not sure if it is incorperated into the PCM or seperate. It is on when driving(yes, means it is inop.) but sometimes it wont let me start the truck for the ten minutes( it will flash when this is happening). Can this be disengaged so it will not give me this problem or what needs to be done to fix it....short of the trip to a repair shop? Thanks:rolleyes:
