my experience in racing my celica is that you probably wont be able to beat the comaro in a straight run, the v6 + a decent automatic transmission will simply react faster and more fluidly then a person shifting a I4 in a straight run, however if your a pretty good driver and familliar with your shift points take the camaro on in a fairly curvedcourse and youll have a pretty good chance, the front wheel drive will give you a huge advantage when cornering vs. the heavy and powerful camaro with its rear wheel drive plus it has to rely purely on brakeing through turns while a FWD can power through most turns and make use of engine break this is just my opinion from racing my celica but im sure there are more variables to it.
to put it short:
drag style... probably not
circuit, good chance

as far as upgrades my formula generaly follows this:
In take, cat-back, headers, turbo, intercooler, chip
i know you probably dont want to spend much, ive tinkerd with a few things from this sight http://www.toyotamr2modifications.com/ (the super charger guide is very neat and i put one on a vr6 jetta i have) the only thing i would watch out for is that when using two of the 24000 rpm motors my engine was running signifigantly leaner and if i was going to use it for prolonged period's i would have some one more knowledgeble retune my carb.
well, really dont get to worried about beating camaros unless your willing to build the car for it, or just drive a camarro. The best advice i can give is that when i started racing i wanted to kill muscle cars, but if you jsut think of cars in classes i find it much more enjoyable. Admire the enginuity of muscle cars, and revel in the fact that you can cream fellow tuners.
or maybe your already a great racer, in that case ignore this and good luck

i dont belive in the electric supercharger how can an electric motor produce more push than the car sucks in at the intake say around 5000rmp there is no way in hell just as an engineer i dont think its possable i would have to do some reserch on how much blow it produces and how much suction the engine has at high rpm

well, for 75$ i think its worth a try. My view on it is that with electric motors their is much less friction and loss of energy so there pretty efficient for their size.

ur not listining it restricts air flow at high rpm maybe at low rpm it might ive some help but there is no way an electric motor can blow faster than the engine sucks. do u have an intake on ur celica cuz i do and ill tell u it sucks pretty loud and ive done the test to see how much it sucks it sucks def more than the blower blows i dont think that shit can work

yeah I have to say I have a short ram intake on my celica right now, and that F'r is loud when your winding out. I have a stupid fart pipe on my car....Don't ask.....but needless to say when I'm winding through gears you can here the intake sucking pretty well over the exaust. I agree there is no electric motor that is going to force air in better then your intake can pull naturally. I also agree with keep your muscle cars and your imports in their own categories. I love both, and respect both, but they are two completely different animals. But I'm tellin ya. if your runnin a 5sfe motor like I am. Its a real hyper motor, when rebuilt with full compression it'll suprise ya at how much natural aspirator power it has. The build I am doing is putting on a t3 turbo, with some slight head work. now I might get 200hp out of that build, but on a 2400 pound car. thats not doing too bad.
