tC improvements

The title says it all. Pick your #1 improvement that you wish the tC came with from the factory and tell us why.

Higher output motor. The RSX/Civic Si with the k series can make 160hp out of 2.0 L I4. The tC having a 2.4 L I4 should be making at least 170hp. Considering the much heavier curb weight, it needs that power to stay comparable among competing models.

Wouldn't we all want all of these things.

Toyota manufactured the tC for a reason. It's a near-luxury equipped car for a stupidly low amount of money.

The 2AZ-FE was just lying around from camries, the manual trans is similar, albeit with a different final drive. You can have a supercharger which puts out more power than si's and rsx's, but guess what? That costs money, and that wasn't Toyota's goal with the car.

Lighter curb weight sounds like a godsend, but 2900 pounds is decent in this era of carbuilding. Safety equipment, sound deadening, chassis stiffening braces, and god knows the sea of glass on the car isn't helping with the weight. The tc looks sporty, but with the hilarious amount of weight added, it was never born to be a performer out of the box. Once again, not Toyota's main goal.

The limited slip differential slips into the same money category. It would cost much more per unit to have them on the car standard. It's a better idea for Toyota to have the units as an available option. They cut costs this way while allowing the marketing style of "customize your ride." It's genius, and that's why they're rich and we're poor.

A higher output supercharger would mean lesser reliability which leads to more engineering required in an otherwise bulletproof reliable block. Yes, it really really does mean lesser reliability. More power always = greater cylinder pressures which can lead to broken parts and blown seals. Toyota never planned to make the tc a race car.

These polls are stupid, they get nothing accomplished. If you want any of these things, install them yourself. That's what i'm planning on doing.

Im not putting more money into my tC, besides maintenance. Im giving the tC to my lil bro. I was just curious to see what everyone else thought about it. I'd rather just get a better performer stock and go from there.

Besides the point. Its nice to actually see a post in the tC forum. Definetly not the liveliest on here for sure.
