"As for the front suspension clunck, I'd suggest you check the condition of the anti-sway bar end links. If they are tight, then you may find your subframe bushings are the source."

Thanks for the tip Rod. I replaced the front sway bar end-links and the clunking sound is gone. The left link had one ball that was slightly loose in its socket and that was enough to produce the noise. It sounded like the suspension might fall apart on the next bump.
