OK, i have a 03' kawasaki ninja 600, I would really like to give it a custom paint job. I have some experience in painting cars, by helping my dad throughout the years. I have never painted a bike though, my question is, if there is anyone that can help me, painting a streetbike made out of plastic as oppose to a car that is all steel, is there a special paint that i need to paint the plastic body, like a bumper paint or something? or should just a regular base coat clear coat do the trick? does anyone have any knowledge on this subject or do you have any website referals? please help me! thank you

Someone here will know, but in the meantime talk to the counter at an automotive paint supply store...those guys are usually really sharp and knowlegable about what works best on what.
I'd suspect you'd want something with slightly more flex like the way it's mixed for bumper covers, yes....

I don't know much about the topic, but I have had friends who have painted their bikes. You will need something with some flex to it (as you inquired) but what that specifically means to you, I don't know.
And on a side note, if you ever plan on selling the bike, expect that custom paint job to be a sticky point... most of the time, custom paint actually causes a LOSS in value (to the typical consumer). Just a friendly heads-up! :)

i'd like to do the same when money permits.
what i plan on doing is getting new fairings or ones from a wrecker and painting those. that way i can sell the bike as original with extra custom paint job. but i'm going gloss black and most of my expensive bits are already black. eg tank, frame and top fairing
