Deleting the resonator

Ok so I got the u-bend & resonator deleted (bill was $200, don't ask :banghead:) today and everyone told me that I wouldn't be able to tell a difference really by getting just the u-bend deleted without further mods but I think I can tell a pretty noticable difference. Does removing the resonator have anything to do it? And what exactly does removing the resonator do? I've heard about people doing it and the guy said it would only be $25 to remove it and mine had a hole in it so it sounded like a good idea lol.:screwy:

removing these items removes restriction in the exhaust, but will also make it louder. Since your resonator had a hole in it, it could have been blocked up (which caused the hole to develop), and that's why you're feeling a difference with it gone.

Ah, gotcha, thanks. I like the sound it has now, but it's not enough. I have a few quesions... (1)Would a new downpipe & hi-flow cat give me more sound? I don't want to go with just a muffler because from what I've heard that's just basically for sound, but I want to get the power along with it (correct me if i'm wrong, i'm pretty much just starting out in the car world). (2)I just got my u-bend and resonator removed, so would that cause any problems with adding a downpipe with a hi-flow cat? I think I'm going to get the one from ZZP once I get enough cash.

I just had mine took out and it is much louder. There is just a pipe there in its spot.
