I think you will find it on the hump in front of the console.....on the drivers side it may be covered with carpet. I know it is there on the 94 Trooper. It could be behind the drivers kick panel in front of the door, same story as far as the connector, I believe. It is a two or three wire connector. I don't remember for sure how many wires.
If you do a forum search you will often find the answers to your question without waiting for a reply. Also, include your year and model and engine in your signature.....helps narrow things down quickly and you don't have to type it every time. Good luck.
One guys opinion.

EDIT I did the search and came up with this link.

That has been the search for the holy grail on most Isuzu forums. I have yet to see one outside of an Isuzu and some GM dealers, but you should be able to flash the codes without one.

If you have the right connector, follow the instuctions at the link I posted previously., basically:

To access trouble codes, a test lead (white wire) and ground lead (black wire) are branched from the wiring harness under the center console near the ECM (http://library.alldatapro.com/alldata/LIB~C23948~R0~OD~N/0/34870051/56622313/56623608/56623609/34853741/34857029/34857030/101367125). With the ignition "ON" connect these two leads together. The "Check Engine" light will begin to flash code 12. Code 12 consists of one flash, a short pause, then two flashes. After a longer pause, code 12 will repeat two more times. This check indicates that the on-board diagnostic system is functioning. If no other codes are present, the cycle will repeat until the ignition is switched "OFF."

Reading Trouble Codes

If trouble codes are stored in memory, the lowest number code will flash three times followed by the next higher code number until all stored codes have been displayed. The codes will then repeat in the same order until the test lead is disconnected. Code 14, for example, indicates a problem in the coolant sensor circuit.
