1997 PA a/c-heat changes hot/cold

I have a 97' Park Avenue. I recently started hearing a clicking noise under the dash as if it was an electrical switch click on and off.Soon after that noise disappeared(2weeks later) you could hear a groaning sound like the a/c /heat doors trying to switch back and forth while sitting idle or driving down the road.Then the noise finally stopped the other day.
Then all of the sudden you can try to turn the heat on (90)and it will blow cold through all settings.You can turn it on/off a few times then it gets warm like normal.
Could this be the Climate Control Panel or something else?
Forgot to mention.Sometimes the lighted area where the temp is displayed will go dim then get bright again.Not all the time.
