I still havn't stripped the paint from my spoon civic. I have to get some brake fluid because i hear thats the best way to do so. Heres the question: do any of you know if you can get some at wal-mart? I know you can get the Castrol stuff, but is that as effective? Thanks.

Yeah you can get brake fluid at wal mart. make SURE you don't get brake cleaner which can melt plastic.

Your best bet is csc, which doesn't smell as bad as brake fluid, althogh it is a bit more expensive. usually a bottle of brake fluid can be around 89 cents, while a gallon jug of csc is about 6 bucks.

You can get used brake fluid from the local garage. Will cost you nothing cause they have to recycle that anyway, at least here in Belgium. That's what I did and it works just fine.

CSC ($4 for a windex size container) works great on enamel though not so great on Tamiya spray. Maybe I just had too many layers, but the CSC didnt strip all the way to the primer with TS paint (tried scrubbing it too).

Do i just soak it in the fluid in a bucket?

Put it in a small plastic container or bucket, whatever you wanna use, put the body in the fluid for 2 or more days, the more longer you put it in there, the easier the paint is gonna come off, But brake fluid weakens glue, so if you glued your windshield, it MIGHT come off it MIGHT NOT come off, same with your headlights/tailights. Take the car out of the fluid after your chosen time period, and wipe the paint off under a water tap (I thiinik that's what you call it), after the paint gets off, wipe the car with some paper towels and repeat. I'm a newbie and it's easy for me, you should have no problem. Good luck! :)

:flash: any paint will come off if you use Easy Off Oven Cleaner, but for some reason it doesnt take off the primer:flash:
