Outside air temp not working

The outside air temp has me baffled; when the air temp is about 60 or below when I start up in the morning the indicator reads the outside air correctly. After operating for few minutes the indicator goes to -40, which indicates no reading from the sensor in the grille. The old sensor reads the correct resistance but I changed it anyway. To eliminate the ground side connection I added a temporary ground connection. In addition I took the connector that is located behind the left wheel well apart and cleaned the contacts. Still have the same issue.
Ideas anyone?:banghead:

Hello, I would see if the EATC is working correctly or not. Might have to have the cars computer scanned. I have a 95 TC and had a similar problem. It would give me a false temp reading after I would drive the car a while. I reconnected the INSIDE air temp and the elbow next to it, and that fixed the problem.

93 TC has a separate outside air temp sensor from the OAT for the EATC. The EATC trouble codes are normal. There is a harness connector C101 behind the wheel well that is all but inaccesable, I may try to check it.
