95 940 hard to start when cold

when starting for the first time for the day, it has to crank over for a long time before it will finally start. some times it will kill the battery from cranking so long. but once it finally starts it runs a little rough for a few seconds and then it runs excellent. it starts perfect for the remainder of the day. it just does this in the morning. thanks
