Would 10mm plug wires be more of an overkill then a benefit? Should i just go with 8mm or 8.5's instead?

I think with your setup 10mm would not be necasary. I'm running 8.5s on my car. There are some guys with high HP dsms that even run stock wires. If I was you I wouldn't spend all that extra money if I didn't have to.

Are 10mm wires any bigger than the 8.5mm? I know the outside is but is the actuall core any bigger?

Stockers will do just fine for you, or anything of the like. No need for oversized wires on a n/t.

Unless you upgrade your coil pack at the same time, stock or similarly sized aftermarket are just fine. I decided to go with 10.3mm wires because it was recommended with the stronger coil that I got atleast 8.5mm wires, so I went big and it turned out well. Much of the extra size is due to increased shielding.

Thanks a lot guys, ill probably just stay stock then, the stock wires are brand new, they were just replaced before i bought the car.
