car will not go in drive it will shift 1st 2nd 3rd but not drive please tell me why

This sounds like it could be a problem with the selector switch, the shift linkage or it could be an internal issue. Take the car to a tranny shop and have them scan the trans computer. It should be a simple fix but this will give you a place to start.
