2000 intrigue 3.5 Transaxle Ratio 3.05
1. Make sure the trans is warm, drive it
2. Loosen the 20 bolts, but more on the side were you want it to spill since their is no drainbolt
3. Let it drain out completey and remove pan then pull down filter
4. Clean pan and surroundings, metalbits on the pan magnet
5. Install new filter and put the pan back on, I reused my old gasket since it looks better and was more secure than the new one
6. Pull out the transmission dipstick and read it and I mean READ it, yes a dipstick wipe it down first
7. Pour in 7.5-8 quarts of dexron 3 through the trans dipstick hole
8. Start the car and let it warm up let it idle the whole time you add and check
9. Once the car is at normal operating temperature check your trans fluid level
10. It should be right in the XX's and your done
Tip check trans fluid level when car is warm and at idle only

Good info. Thanks. I have done the change too and it is not too bad. I have added one step however. I have a hand held fluid transfer pump that I bought for servicing differential oils on my AWD vehicles. Now, instead of dropping a full pan of tranny oil, I first pump out the pan by running the pump's rubber intake tube down the dipstick tube to the pan, and pumping it out into a gallon container (leftover windshield fluid container) so I can measure what comes out.
This way I can just keep the process a little cleaner.

DEXRONŽ-VI can be used in any proportion in past model vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission/transaxle in place of DEXRONŽ-III (i.e. topping off the fluid in the event of a repair or fluid change). DEXRONŽ-VI is also compatible with any former version of DEXRONŽ for use in automatic transmissions/transaxles.

GM recommendation @ 86,000 Km (50,000 mile):
Change automatic transmission fluid and filter if the vehicle is mainly driven under one or more of these conditions: in heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 90F (32C) or higher; in hilly or mountainous terrain; when doing frequent trailer towing; uses such as found in taxi, police or delivery service. If you do not use your vehicle under any of these conditions, change the fluid and filter at 166,000 km (100,000 mi).

Hi
i just bought one Intrigue 3.8L , and I am in trouble finding info about what kind of transmission fluid should I use! I have found DEXRON-III (ATF) in a local shop. Is it going to work for 3.8L model?
