So I decided to build a system in my car. Nothing crazy, but building it for musical accuracy. I want to be able to reproduce any instrument to it natural frequency range, such as a lower pipe organ which can produce frequencies lower than 15hz.
My first step was to pull the stock stereo and install my new one. Pretty nice one, not dvd just sound.
FUCKING 5 HOURS LATER, I was sold the wrong harness. Fine go get the right one. This car is just about the only car on the planet in which the entire dash assembly has to come out. Cant just pull a trim off and boom, NO the entire fucking dash must come out. Whatever I've install dozens of sytems over the years no biggie.
Then I find out that my car doesn't use any type of accessory, its all data that the cars cpu decides what comes on and when . So I have to run an accessory lead off of the air conditioning fuse, so I can utilize the acc and not destroy my battery. FAIR ENUFF
Then once its all done, there isnt enuff room for the harness AND the deck AND all the fucking wires and preouts and usb port wires and all the bs in the dash. SO I pull it back out, and find myself with my foot on the airbag and im sawzalling the plastic reinforcements out of inside of the dash. Finally is slides in. Its all done, works great, deck comes with a built in g-meter for horsepower and accelleration and g-forces and shit. Love it
oh BTW they sold me the wrong fucking antenna adaptor, so it all ahs to come out again gg
thanks for reading my pain.
chapter 2 = 4 sets of door speakers...............

OK
So I have had a pair of pioneer 12inch for sealed enclosures, in my gf's garage. I built a box for them tonight, separate chambers @ 1.6 cubic feet.
I ordered a punch 600.1bd mono amp that shouldbe in, in a few days. I ordered it off of ebay. I took a bunch of notes off of ebay, and took them in to 2 different store in my town. They couldnt touch the ebay prices, not by far.

good luck with that sarkazm. ebay is great to look at, but you dont get a warranty with anything from rockford fosgate when you buy off of ebay - thats why its more at the shops.

Actually I have a one year warranty, and a certificate for an aditional warranty from fosgate that they are honoring because I am installing the amp with a fosgate amp kit.
I installed the stock replacements this weekend. The door were super easy with the adaptor plates. Because of the height of the co-axals, the tweeter pushes the door panel just a hair out. Cant really tell unless you are really looking.
The rear deck was different though. I am a dumb ass, I have had the car for 2 years and never realized that I have folding seat. I know what you are saying but every car I have EVER owned had the latches on the inside of the car not the truck. Never occured to me, but none the less after I pulled them apart I figured it out. I didn't like the fact that the are just loosely clipped inside of a little plastic harness, so I drilled holes and screw them down to the rear deck. Same problem with the height of the mid/tweeters, so I razored out the pressboard in the middle. After it was complete and the rear deck was back in, you can only see a small bubble in the deck. Over all it has descent staging, but once I put the 4 3.5" co-axals in it will fatten up the vocals and lift the stage.
Over all the fact that I have spent 650 dollars on this system, I am very happy with the way it is turning out. I still have to install the amps and the 12s, I picked up a pair of punch 12s. I have to build a new box as they require a volume of .85 to 1.25. Fosgate recommend .85 but I read a review from caraudiomag.com that built a 1.13cuft and he liked that best. I think i will build it 1.1 per speaker and try that.
This week I'll install the new box and amps.
