U-bend delete information

Ok so my dad is being a dumbass and is isn't letting me get my u-bend deleted (i'll do it either way but he knows a lot of people that can do it for cheap so I kinda need him haha) until I can show him what it will do for my car (he also already knows everything he just wants me to know). Here's an email he sent to me:
Joe, show me how this adds any value to your car. By value, I mean Horse Power, better fuel mileage, increased performance, anything. But show me with articles, or research, or something. This has to cost $75 at a minimum, but what do you get for the $75?

(The $75 is from I showed him the part at pfyc to show him what it looked like). But anyway, would someone want to just type up a quick little bit of info of what I would get out of it (stuff he mentioned, hp, gas milage, etc.)? Thanks to anyone that will.

ZZP has the prefabricated u-bend delete for around $40. You'll need a flange gasket to the resonator.....$4.00 and one end must be welded to the output of the CAT convertor. This is not a mod where you will feel it in the seat of your pants. It should be done in conjunction with adding a hi-flow CAT convertor. There is documentation on alleged power gains. All right thanks for that article. I know I won't see a huge amount of difference but hey it's a start. The RT downpipe and CAT is a good choice but expensive.

The ZZP downpipes are just as good but less expensive and you can get them with or without a CAT. A good combo is the 3.0"-2.5" ZZP downpipe, a Magnaflow hi-flow CAT and the u-bend delete. Including the total cost. The woven flex joint is a good idea and used to isolate the exhaust system and cut down on vibration, etc. Similar to what you use with headers which is the ideal exhaust mod.

If you're going to pay someone to start cutting the exhaust up, you're best performance-per-dollar move is to replace the whole down pipe. If you're emissions regulations aren't too strict in your area, I'd suggest going with the cat-less DP and having an exhaust shop take out the stock exhaust from the OE down pipe all the way through the resonator. Replace the res with pipe and bolt up the DP. Its going to sound a little, 'er, a lot louder, but this is one of the better ways to rework the exhaust on the GP without getting a prefabbed kit. I can send you sound files of mine if you're curious as to how it'll turn out from that standpoint.

I don't agree with this suggestion. With out the cat and your 02 sensor, the car will run like crap and get lousy gas mileage. The guy that wrote the post didn't say anything about making the major mods, like a reprogramed PCM, etc.

Look Burt, save your cash, and do the exhaust right. Don't go at it half butt. Removing the u-bend will not put you back in your seat with that mod alone.

Everyone has different ideas about their exhaust and where they want their torque and speed in the power band. You'll need to look into high flow cats, mufflers, size OD of the exhaust pipes, etc.

In my case, I'm happy with the u-bend delete, 3" exhaust from the exhaust manifold back to a stainless steel magna flow cat, then out the back of the cat with 2.5" exhaust to dual 40 series flowmasters.

Eippermx makes a good point. I had assumed your exhaust mods where along with an intake, exhaust, PCM upgrade. Also, it is possible to swap out your down pipe with an after market pipe (either cat-less or after market cat) and have a bung for the stock o2 sensor. I also wouldn't recommend and never suggested running without the o2 sensor.
