Tubular Exhaust Mani

Anyone here run them? I have been reading up on them and I know it supposidly increases flow...Anyone have any discrepencies with that?

Don't go cheap. They will crack if you go with crap. I run tubular (N/T though) and it an ebay one. HOWEVER, don't go with ebay brand on the turbo models.

I have to disagree on this one... The tubular manifold I have from ebay is all stainless, even the welds... I know several people running the same manifold and they have had no problems with cracking on them... :2cents:

For our cars, unless you are looking to make some serious power, Porting the stock 2g manifold is a perfectly viable option. The stock exhaust mani's, like the stock fuel rails are one of the parts that are over-engineered on our cars.

The only way you really need a tubular exhaust manifold is if you are running a non mitsu-housing turbo, or like I said above making serious power.

Ah I see...im looking for power, but not mass amounts. What ever I do its gonna be new. I will probably just but the standard mani and have it ported. What did it run you guys for the port job?

I have a tubular manifold from ebay and the quality on it is really good. It has nice welds and has held together really strong for me so far. If you are going to buy one though I wouldnt buy and stock 2g one when you can find an Evo 3 one for the same price if not cheaper and it will be brand new compared to trying to find a good condition used 2g manifold.

The problem I have heard about eBay turbo mani's is that yeah, they look good, but they lack the structural integrity. The cyclic heating and cooling combined with the weight of the turbo hanging off of it causes it to crack. Personally, I wouldnt run one unless it was good one, but I cant see myself ever running one. Too bad I didnt bring one of my spares down, I have a pretty decently ported 2g manifold I would sell ya. Also, dont bother with another 1g mani, they are prone to cracking and restrictive. If I were you I would go with either a ported 2g, an Evo III, or an FP cast mani. You can score a used 2g mani for like $50 pretty easy, other wise the Evo III mani's are $195 from FP or the FP race mani is $325.
