Jerks on my corrola

I sometimes seem to have jerks on my toyota corrola when moving from a stop and at high speeds. This seems to happen more when the engine is started from cold. It is a 94 corrola with 107k miles on it. Anyone knows what the problem can be and how it can be corrected?
