Flashing Service Engine Light

Someone on the forum has a flashing SEL light only when the key is turned to on. It will flash 10 times and stop. Start the engine and the light goes away. He's not seeing codes. Anyone know for sure what this means? I'm thinking it's a PCM problem. What say you?

I know you know your stuff, RIP, but are we dead positive it's not a maintenance reminder light? I've heard that this could be a misfiring issue, but it should throw a code.

Good point. I'll find out. It's been a while since I last touched a 4th gen van. Does an 01 T&C have a maintenance reminder light? I haven't seen it on gen 3 vans.

Misfire? Ya thats the first thing that jumped out but, the engine isn't running. Thanks for the thoughts.
