Fuses are blowing

I am having a problem with a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis. I was leaving the house the other day on it, and the car died on me. A local mechanic replaced a fuse, and it blew. He ended up putting four fuses in it before he could get it to run. It is running right now, but I have a feeling that it will quit again. I am by no means a mechanic, so I don't really know if the fuses that my mechanic replaced were to the ignition or fuel pump....
Can anyone provide information on this problem, and advise me about what I should do? Thanks!

My 98 blew a fuse every time you hit the brake. I gave up after I tried everything I could think of and I took it to the dealer They said it was a bad ground strap connection. Who knows, it was fixed.

i had the same problem. i ended up getting a letter in the mail about a recall about a speed control switch in the steering column. there was a brake line leaking on the wires or something. anyways, i got that fixed and all of my electrical and fuse problems are fixed.
