I would not be surprised if the car has been featured in a major import magazine such as Super Street, and thus every last nut and bolt has a paragraph devoted to it and you should be able to find the exhaust there.

However, there is also the possibilty that everything you heard during that race was just impeccable foley work. Engine sounds can be laid over film of cars moving very easily. The best example is in the filming of the Monaco sequence of Gran Prix. What they did was they went to Watkins Glen with Phil Hill and Dan Gurney, and those two made runs up and down the straightaway, shifting just as they would for Monaco. Then those sounds were laid over the sounds that the F2 cars they used for filming made. It's still amazing to think that drivers could memorize the exact shift points for a course like Monaco, and then replicate them many times over in different cars on a totally different track surface.

Also, the shelby in Gone in 60 seconds, its sound was dubbbed in from a GT- 40.

Actually it was dubbed from a Real Shebly Mustang with a 428CJ. I just saw a 'making of' on it. The cars in the movie were just 289 Autos. Even though the car was supposed to be a 4 spd.

If it was from a GT40, it would of been raspier cause of the 8 velocity stacks.

That BOV on the gren eclipse was made by an AMD Athlon or P4.

The eclipse wasn't even turbocharged all sounds were computer generated like the shelby in Gone in 60 sec.

The only really modded cars in that movie were the supra the jetta and the charger from what I heard.

Don't forget the S2000. I have met the actual owner of that car, and his car has been featured in a few magazines. It doesn't have NOS like the movie shows, but is supercharged and lays about 350HP to the wheels. Also, I have read about the 240SX in that movie (the one driven by Vin's girl) and it is actually owned by a girl, and has a well-modified SR20DET motor. Don't know her car's figures, but her motor came with about 240HP stock....and last, but not least, the supercharger whine from the Maxima was for real...Stillen SC with about 350HP...

...oh, yeah...the RX-7:D.

Dude, how could you even say that... you saw all those wings and body kits! We all know a Civic with an aluminum wing makes well over 300hp.

I'm sorry i have no ideea what i was talking about. Of course you are right. The aluminum wings add al leas 200 hp to the weels don't even get me started on carbon fiber at least 300 hp.

Oh, I read in Mustang Monthly that it was a GT40. Whatever it was it sounded good.

Well, at that level, you need a fart can, because your stock muffler will be holding back your true power!

Of course, bolting on a carbon fiber wing without converting to a single wiper would be suicide!

dont know the answer to the question, but BOV are a waste of time anyway. None of the big Japanese tuners recommend them

BOVs are good if you need them... if you have a basic low boost street setup with stock or mild cams, you don't need them.

For some reason they have become a point of pride in import tuning, everyone wants a louder BOV, so that everyone can hear it... I don't pretend to understand it.
