D series R'active header..

I know there is a way to measure the bolt pattern, but two things:
I can't remember which bolt pattern is D series, and which is B,
And I'm not sure HOW to measure the bolt pattern.. i.e. which two holes to measure between... anyway, I have a header, and no spare gasket to match up to it atm... if it's the wrong one, it's no big deal, b/c I only paid $10 for it.. just if it fits, I wanna put it on the civic I just bought.
Any help/links?

Gasket? Don't need no stinking gasket! I've raced mine without gaskets on them without any leaks whatsoever....heard from an old mechanic that the gaskets just give it a place to leak eventually when you use a header, run without one and it doesn't leak, no place for it to form a leak :)
Ofcourse, I'm crazy like that.

well, the header is sitting in my closet, the closest bare head I have is an hour away :P Hence the reason I wanna MEASURE IT :)
rofl @ lazy ass... is it that obvious?
PS, I might have found a set of 16" Konig Vintage wheels for $100... if they're 4x100, even if they're the wrong offset, I'm getting 'em.

I might be getting a set of the "holes" Si wheels.. the 13" inch ones... I'm pretty sure they're coming w/ my car when I send my dad up to get the rest of the parts... as it sits, my 4g is sitting in my friends driveway w/ a B2 block and 2 B2 heads in the trunk... amazingly, w/ the timing problems, it's still pretty snappy w/ almost 500 lbs in the trunk plus me and wifey.

By "holes" if you mean the ones in the pic below, they are 14"s

I've always called them "phone dials" because they sort of reminded me of the phone dial rims I had on my 944...

yeah, they're like that, but these ones are 13's, best I can remember... if not, kewl, I'll pry end up using them on the 1g CRX I have for the track.. specially since they're lighter than the 17lb steelies.
 I'll let you know if I get them if they're 13's or not

Yea, I have a set of Phone dials for mine too, they are 14s. Was gonna run them on my 92, but I had clearance issues when the wheel was under pressure(right front would rub against something, left a nice ring inside the wheel)
Don't know if I'm using them next year with the CRX or 15s, depends if I can keep 14s from spinning.

I dunno, if I'm going to use them on anything, it'll be the '85.. they used to be on the Civic that I just bought, but only b/c they had good enough tires for inspection.

Update on the header.. I've test fitted it to a B2 head today, before I pulled the LX tranny out. It fits.. so I'm going to be using it, as soon as I can get my dad to weld a flange on it from another downpipe, then I have to get a $20 "performance" cat from eBay, b/c this one is 20 years old.. gonna put the header and cat on at the same time, and keep the 2" pipe for now, just gonna weld a resonator and a '97 Eclipse muffler on it, even though it will fit somewhat crooked, b/c of the length and the whole "across the back" design of the Honda exhaust.. I might flip the pipe and run it down the other side tho, so it doesn't have to go across the back... will shorten it up a bit too.
You'll never guess what I"m using for a exhaust gasket...
My dad found himself a sheet of 1/16" thick copper... yep, you guessed it.

Nice...had to go and see what the original question was, been a long week for me, worked 58.5 hrs with a shitty schedule too.
As I said before, You don't need no stinkin gasket! :)

ROFL... putting a copper gasket in.. I've never blown one of those.
I used to use it on my Kart engines for head gaskets... you can still see the cutouts of it.. new thread tonite or tomorrow w/ pics of the LX

Well, we got the tranny in, wife was too cold to stand outside and take pics while I was working, so we'll get some pics the next time I see the car that it's light out... still have to change the headlight and header and cat and both front corner lenses, un-bend the headlight support bracket on the driver's side, and replace the hood, then we should be mostly good to go, other than the rims and whatnot, all the little stuff...
I wish I could have taken a pic of the shifter... the bolt that holds it to the shift linkage was rusted/seized right to the bearings on either side of it... I had to hammer/punch it to get it out, and that destroyed the bearings... so it's good ABEC-7 race bearings in either side of the shifter now... believe it or not, it's smmooooootttthhhhhh... :D
HF gears will def take some getting used to.... I went from 5500 RPM last night to 2750 RPM shifting from 2nd gear to 3rd... and the shift linkage inside teh tranny isn't worn to shit... it feels just like a shifter should... lil play, but not too much.
