just wondered what everyones thoughts were on getting away from cops,back in the 60,s and earlier it was done easily but nowadays with all the helis and radios is it impossible or near impossible?

People do it, not very often, but they do it. Some states actually won't follow you after a certain speed for public safety. I've done it, but I was only speeding, saw the cop, and turned around at a business. I never saw his light or knew he was following me. I only found out because my brother passed me going the other way, he told me after I got home.

^Heard a story about a Lambo I think that kept speeding away from a car. Idiots, the cops didn't pursue because they got his license and saw no need to. They met him at his house later that night.

But yes, I've done it and that's all I'll say to that.

I'm assuming you mean by car too. This thread is just asking to be closed though.

Its not smart to do but I did it once to save myself . I was speeding down a road into an overpass and I floored it through the overpass cause it sounded good at the time, when on the opposite side of he road a cop was just passing me. I saw he caught me in his vision. I looked in my rear view to see him flip a u-turn right in the middle of the road to come after me. I floored it more and turned down a side street and into someones driveway. I parked the car jumped out and began to walk down the street towards the cop while talking on my cell phone. He drove right past me and I was in the clear. I guess I got this idea at the time from FF1 years ago :loser:

i think it also depends on where you live,where im at its very open and nowhere to go its just straight,so unless you can go faster top end you have no chance,the only person i know of near me who got away from the law here was a boy on a yamaha r1,but a bikes topend is higher than a police car,most cars of today though(new anyways) cut off at like 105 so theres no chance of getting away,i think most cops are good at what they do and make it hard to lose em,plus you can outrun a car but not a radio.

I thought about it once when I was getting pulled over for going 26 over the limit but I didn't. I do remember my brother some years back had a cop flip around and start going towards him and he quick turned off into some neighborhoods and never saw him agian.

Done it once, but only because I knew the neighborhood. Not a good idea, but it's up to you.;

Everyone who replied saying they outran a cop did so before the cop even got behind them - they just kinda "disappeared" before the cop could turn around and hit the lights. Once the cop is behind you and hits the lights, it's nearly impossible to get away. Obviously the longer he chases you the more backup he'll get from his buddies, and the helicopter is the clincher.

Most motorcyclists aren't good enough to get away from a trained cop. All of the motorcycle pursuits I've seen ended with the motorcycle crashing. There's just too much traffic for a motorcycle to really open up. I did see one motorcyclist get away, but that's only because he ditched the bike and ran into a mall.

Nothing's impossible.

However it is illegal to run from the police.
