My truck is an 03 2500hd with the 6l. very intermittently I get reduced engine power and I pull over shut it off then restart it, and it is fine. The ses light goes off after a little bit. Scanned it with my elmscan and computer and each time I get P1516 Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) Module Throttle Actuator Position Performance. I know how it works and did a little research and found a tsb#3042. can any one give me more info on this. I really miss the good old throttle cable.
thanks

I have had the same problem for about a year.It is very scarry next to a semi and loose all pedal response. I bought a tac module today for $230.00. I hope this fixes the problem.I will post either way if it works or not.:banghead:

there is a yellow wire that likes to break on the connector, i've seen it cause intermittent problems to the point where i told a customer that i won't throw parts at his truck just to "try" and fix it, and i couldn't duplicate it. finally got it to act up, same code. long story short, replaced the connector at the throttle body and was good togo. not sure if you guys already found and fixed the issue, but is a good thing to check. is cheaper than replacing modules.

Yes, I have seen that on other post too. I have checked it out ,but haven`t
been able to get the error when I wiggle the wire.I was wondering if when the fan kicks on it shakes the wire enough to set the code. That flow of air might be hard enough to wiggle that yellow wire. The wire does look a little worn. Thanks for the response. I do hope it was the module in my case because I spent the money. The dealers all have their own ideas!

I did everything on the bulletin and it still did it once in awhile.was getting worse so i took it to the dealer and they couldnt duplicate it, got the same response, we dont want to throw parts at it, even when I said change the tac i will pay and not blame you if thats not it they didnt want to. I was also told by 3 dealers you needed the tech 2 to recalibrate it. I was talking to my father in laws neighbor who is a mechanic at a dealer, and he said change the tac,and you dont need the tech 2. so i bought the part thru him put it on and its been 4 months and hasnt done it. When i took mine off I did notice a small hole in one corner in the back, I think it was letting moisture in and throwing it off. I will post a pic later.

Well I am at wits end. I thought the tac was my problem, it wasn`t. I had the problem again this morning in city driving(less than 25 miles total since install) I guess the wire harness must be the problem.:banghead:
