My 95 C-1500 ext has 220k on it's clock and now needs new tie rods installed but tie rods & ball joints are 2 of the few things I've never installed on any car or truck. I was wondering on a scale of 1-5 how hard it is to do the job myself and what special tools would be needed ? Also, since I'm in the front end what other parts should I consider replacing.

On a scale from 1 to 5, I'd say about a 3. On your truck it's pretty easy. I'd also do all the bushings since your there. Also, if you didn't already know, you are gonna need to get the front end realigned after you do all this.

Go with Moog parts, they have a lifetime warranty and they do cover labor. You might want to get a second opinion, from another shop.I have seen this,a customer comes in and another shop says it needs ball joints, etc and do a second time.Find out it does not need the tie rod, etc. There is one shop that likes putting in ball joints in my area which is not needed.
