2003 silverado code po446

I keep getting code po446 on my 2003 Silverado. It has 97,000 miles with a 4.8 2wheel drive. I have read that the evap vent valve is the problem. I do drive dusty roads often. Please help.

did u replace the valve?, check the evap hoses for any kind of cracks or broken hoses. try starting there.

Not yet. I took the valve loose and the foam filter in it was full of dust. I cleaned it but still am getting the po446 code. I want to get as much info. as I can before I purchase the parts.

A code P0446 means a restricted or blocked EVAP canister vent path caused by:

A malfunctioning EVAP vent solenoid (stuck closed)
A plugged kinked or pinched vent hose
A shorted EVAP vent solenoid driver circuit
A plugged evaporative canister.
